Abstract

Elements of the Dja conservation service intercepted the accused, Mohamadou Alioum and a driver in a vehicle, in the town of Djoum, to which the driver escaped the scene. The elements searched the vehicle thoroughly and found 12 Ivory tusks, well hidden in the back seat of the car. The accused Mohamadou Alioum called Mohamadou, the owner of the Ivories who came and was arrested. Mohamadou equipped the co-offender Mohamadou Alioum with the vehicle and driver to go collect the ivories. It was based on these facts that an offence report was drafted and together with the seized items, they were all transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution
