Abstract
The accused MABOU Benjamin was arrested in Baham in possession of two large leopard's skins, a totally protected animal species. He was summoned to appear before the Court of First Instance, Bafoussam to respond to charges of detention, circulation and commercialization of a totally protected animal species, and to have been found in a public place without a national identity card. During trial in court, the accused pleaded not guilty, but as the proceeding unfolded in light of the evidence presented, the accused was formally recognized as the owner of the trophies of protected animals. Accordingly, judgement was prononced against him based on these evidence.
