Abstract

On the 14 October 2010, the accused persons MPENGUE Celestine, MEFOUTA Richard and DOUMBE Apollinaire were arrested flagrante delicto in the locality of Faro-west (Cynegetic Hunting Zone (ZIC) 30 by elements of the divisional delegation of forestry and wildlife for Boumba and Ngoko. They were found in possession of the remains of protected animal species notably Peter’s and harvey’s duiker, blue duiker, yellow backed duiker, water chevrotain and dwarf pangolin. During interrogation, all accused persons confessed to have committed the act and pleaded guilty. At the close of interrogation, they were transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.
