Since 2016, Hui X. and Hong Z. jointly operated the Bowenge Antique Store in Jiacheng International Plaza, Bagongshan District, Huainan City. Hui X. was responsible for purchasing and processing wild animal products from the Internet and selling them, and Hong Z. was responsible for receiving the goods.
Jianhua C., Qingyuan F., Weiping F., Huayuan F. and Jianwei G. purchased wild animals for sale without applying for registration with the industry and commerce administrative department to obtain a business license, and without obtaining a wildlife management license from the forestry authority. From July to August 2017, Jianhuo C. hired Jianfa C to process and polish a batch of ivory beads at a price of 0.5 yuan each; from July to August 2018, Jianhuo C. handed over two bags of ivory beads to Jianfa C. for processing and polishing. After identification, the net weight of ivory products was 0.733kg, valued at 21541 yuan.
In early October 2017, Jinming L. purchased ivory products from Mo through WeChat at a price of RMB 200,000, and Mo delivered the goods to the Jinming L. through express delivery. The above-mentioned ivory products were seized by the public security organs. After appraisal, the ivory products involved weighed 16.753 kg, valued at RMB 698047.25.
Since September 2016, Jun Y. had successively purchased 5 yellow-sided conures and sun parakeets from others, and placed them in the Cangnan County breeding farm. From March to August 2017, Jun Y. successively sold 8 parrots to others through Xianyu and Taobao websites, with a profit of RMB 5,340.
Meiyun L. illegally purchased and sold endangered wildlife products such as ivory, rhino horns, and helmet hornbill products, whose total value was 231,500 yuan. Since August 2013, Zhenhua Z.
From May to June 2018, Meifang W. illegally purchased wild herons (dead bodies) from Sun (separate case) for prices ranging from 20 yuan to 35 yuan, and the birds were used in restaurants to process into dishes for customers. Meifang W. paid a total of 4,485 yuan for the purchase of wild birds to Sun. Meifang W.
On December 2, 2013, Min G., Zhiqiang X. and Linzheng G. sold a rhino horn product to Meiyang L.. After identification, the rhino horn had a net weight of 4.942 kg and a value of RMB 1.231 million. On December 17, 2018, the Xianyou County Public Security Bureau seized 16 suspected ivory beads at Min G.'s rental house.
On March 28, 2019, Peng X. contacted Qingshan S. to purchase tortoises through WeChat and telephone without the permission of relevant authorities, and agreed to purchase three tortoises at a price of 1200 yuan each. After Peng X. bought the three tortoises, he brought them back home and raised.
