It was alleged by the prosecution that on 30/07/1996 in the village of Lutukila, within the District of Songea the appellant was found with unlawful possession of government trophies. They were later on prosecuted before the District Court of Songea. Prosecution procured about five (5) witnesses to testify the allegations.

The appellants were arrested following information that they were in possession of buffalo meat. The appellants disputed any knowledge about the meat affirming they had no license for hunting. They were found in the house where the meat was because they took rest for the night.

The appellant Ausi Hassani Nampali was on 24th October, 2001 convicted by the Lindi District Court on two counts of unlawful possession of government trophy contrary to section 67(1) and (c) (d) (iii) and (2A) of the Wildlife Conservation Act No. 12 of 1974 as amended by Act No.

The appellant was found in possession of a weighing scale while drying meat identified by the witnesses using their experience to be that of a zebra. There was no skin or head to support such claim.

On 11th May, 2010 at Mlangale village the accused person was arraigned and found in unlawful possession of firearm without a license. Also accused person was in unlawful possession of government trophies and ammunition. A charge brought before the court for accused to answer. The accused was convicted.

On 17th April, 2008 at Rukwa Lukwati Forest Reserve within Mpanda District the accused person was arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophies. Then brought before the court to answer a charge. The accused was convicted.

That on 8th December, 2011 at Itumba area within Mpanda District in Rukwa region the accused persons were arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophies. Also the accused persons were found in unlawful possession of two muzzle gun and ammunitions. A charge was brought before the court for accused persons to answer.

On 2nd May, 2009 at Mpimbwe-Usevya village within Mpanda District in Rukwa Region, the accused person was arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophies. A charge of unlawful possession was brought against the accused person before the court. The accused person was convicted.

Suleiman Ally and Rehani Magani were on 03/09/2015 at Mkuta within the Mvomero District in Morogoro Region were found in possession of Government trophies to wit fifty lug of buffalo meat valued Tshs 2,945,000 the property of the Government of United Republic of Tanzania without permit or license.

Accused persons were arrested at Kihelezo village within Kilosa District in Morogoro for on allegation of possessing Government trophy against the laws of the country. Alleged Government trophy was buffalo meat weighing 5 kilos. When charged they all denied the charged but later convicted as charged and sentenced.
