In 1995 a wildlife officer received information that the appellants have been engaged in illegally trafficking in white-tailed deer, deer and elk antlers, and moose. As a result of the resulting investigation the appellants were charged with a variety of offences contrary to The Wildlife Act, S.S.

This case is an appeal of convictions and sentences on several charges of trafficking in, and possession of, white tailed deer, elk meat, white-tailed deer antlers, elk antlers, and hunting white-tailed deer without a licence, all contrary to the Wildlife Act.
Judgement:

Mr. Potts was convicted of 11 counts under the Wildlife Act, R.S.A. 200, c.W-10. The issue for consideration is what is a fit and appropriate sentence given all the proper considerations.

Ke C.'s father left a gun after his death. Later, Ke C. purchased a sight to modify the gun and purchased 300 bullets for hunting. From mid-December 2016 to January 5, 2017, Ke C. drove with gun into the Dahuangshan Nature Reserve several times, hunted three rock sheep, and slaughtered them with the knife he carried.

From October 2010 to December 2011, the defendant Gensheng W. illegally hunted and killed nine wild animals by using wire ropes and other tools in the area of Huoshaoliang (place name) in Yenigou, Quwa Township, Zhouqu County. It was also found that between October 2010 and December 2011, Gensheng W. hunted down three blue sheep.

From January 21, 2011 to January 28, 2015, the defendants Wanhong Y., Guangxue W., Mingzhi W., Xiquan L.and Tianzhon M.entered the Ningxia Helan Mountain Nature Reserve seven times with firearms to hunt the blue sheep, and shipped the sheep back.A total of 15 blue sheep were hunted by them.
