Abstract

On July 29, 2016, Yaya Mboubouti Venia Steve left Matoto to Pokola. On his way, he was suddenly stopped by two local indigenous people who proposed him to buy ivory tusks. Interested, he bought four tusks at XAF 125,000 over the XAF 200,000 that was fixed by the sellers. While in possession of the tusks, he contacted one known as Alima who expressed the desire to buy them. On August 02, 2016 while they were at motel calles ”La Gliva” at Mvelek area to finalize the transaction, they were caught by the Police and rangers and brought before the state prosecutor.
