Abstract

On September 08, 2011, Yombotoua Victor killed one elephant at Liouesso village with a caliber 12 weapon. He then removed the tusks that we hid inside water. On his way to sell the tusks at Makoua he was caught and arrested by forces of law and order.

Yombotoua Victor was sentenced to twelve months suspended imprisonment term, XAF 1,200,000 (one million and hundred thousand) as fines and to pay XAF 1,000,000 (one million) as damages and XAF 200,000 (two hundred thousand) as court fees. The imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to fifteen days for the recovery of court fees, one month for the recovery of fines and three months for damages.
