Abstract

The accused persons ABENEME Francois and NKOBO Marcel were arrested flagrante delicto in the locality of BOLO by elements of the Yokadouma Wildlife Administration on an anti-poaching patrol mission around the outskirts of the Lobeke National Park. They were found in possession of a large stock of class "A" animal remains, including six (06) live grey parrots, ten (10) smoked parrot heads, one hundred and twenty (120) red parrot feathers, a capture net, a machete, a mosquito net, a torch and a cooking pot. During interrogation, they all pleaded guilty to the facts and admitted committing the offence as reproached. At the close of interrogations, they were transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.

The accused ABENEME Francois was sentenced to two (02) months fixed term imprisonment and to pay 100,000 XAF for fines while NKOBO Marcel was sentenced to three (03) months fixed term imprisonment and to pay 200,000 XAF for fines. They were both sentenced to pay 27,000XAF for costs.
