The appellant was sentenced by the Resident Magistrate of Shinyanga as follows; 1st Count: Entering into a game reserve. He was sentenced to custodial sentence of one year in jail. 2nd Count: Unlawful hunting in a game reserve. He was sentenced to pay a fine of Tsh. 200,000/= or one year in jail in default.

The appellant was found in a game reserve to be in possession of fire arm and meat of the animals named in the species sub section below without a valid permit. During trial he denied the facts as presented by the prosecution.

That on 8th December, 2011 at Itumba area within Mpanda District in Rukwa region the accused persons were arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophies. Also the accused persons were found in unlawful possession of two muzzle gun and ammunitions. A charge was brought before the court for accused persons to answer.

That on 9th November, 2014 near the lake shore the accused person was arrested and found in unlawful possessing government trophies. A charge of unlawful possession was brought against the accused person. The accused person was convicted.

On 21st day of December, 2011 at Kalovyo Inyonga within Mpanda district the accused was unlawful found with 3kg of hippopotamus meat valued at TSHS.2,700,000/= the property of the government of Tanzania. He was therefore charged with an economic crime and wildlife conservation. The accused was convicted.

On 2nd May, 2009 at Mpimbwe-Usevya village within Mpanda District in Rukwa Region, the accused person was arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophies. A charge of unlawful possession was brought against the accused person before the court. The accused person was convicted.

That on 17th April, 2008 at Masage village within Mpanda District in Rukwa region the accused person was arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophies. Also was found with unlawful possession of firearm. A charge was brought before the court for accused person to answer. The accused was convicted.

Sometime on 18th February, 2015 at Katuma River the accused person was found and arraigned in unlawful possession of government trophies. Then brought before the court to answer the charge. The accused was convicted.

Sometimes on 13th April, 2007 at Kashaulili area within Mpanda District in Rukwa Region, the accused person was found in unlawful possession of 10 kg of hippopotamus meat valued 840,000/=, a horn of greater kudu valued Tshs. 1,600,000/= and one feather of porcupine valued tsh. 150,000/= the property of United Republic of Tanzania.

On 9th October, 2013 at Mnyamasi area at Vikonge village within Mpanda District in Katavi Region, the accused person was arraigned and found in unlawful possession of government trophy. He was therefore charged with an economic crime and wildlife conservation. The accused was convicted.
