Abstract

At 16:00 on February 23, 2017, the police of Ding'an County Forest Public Security Bureau seized 6 "black snakes" and 3 "gray snakes" at stalls 7 and 8 in Dingcheng Town and An Market operated by defendant Dexin C. during routine inspections. In addition, from January 30, 2017 to February 15, 2017, Dexin C. sold 6 "black snakes" to others. It has been identified that the "black snake" sold by Chen Dexin is the Chinese cobra and the "grey snake" is the oriental rat-snake, both of which are prohibited from trade in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
