On the evening of August 14, 2014, Wei W. and Jie W. illegally hunted a goshawk with a slingshot in Tuanbu Village, Daxu Town, Tongshan District, Xuzhou City. From July 2014 to December 2015, Wei W., alone or with Wang Jinpeng and Xu Lei, hunted birds illegally with slingshots near Tuanbu Village, Daxu Town, Tongshan District, Xuzhou City. Among them, Wei W. participated in the hunting of 51 magpies, 14 mountain turtle doves, 1 ring-necked pheasant, 2 black water chickens, 1 blue emerald and 1 night heron, a total of 70. Jinpeng W. and Lei X. were both involved in hunting 43 magpies, 2 mountain turtledoves, 1 ring-necked pheasant, and 2 blackwater chickens, for a total of 48. Wei W. and Jie W. confessed to having illegally hunted endangered wildlife, Wei W., Jinpeng W. and Lei X. confessed to having illegally hunted wild birds.
