Abstract
In July 2019, Bazokokande Baurel went to the village Ibenga near Liouesso to work for a logging company. At his service, he met with three poachers including one known as Vandame who offered to pay him if he could transport two ivory tusks. Bazokokande Baurel accepted and kept the two tusks while Vandame went to Ouesso to get money. Vandame didn’t find the money in Ouesso and came back to Ibenga promising Bazokokande to pay him once the ivory will be sold. He entered a taxi with Bazokokande and on they way they came across a ranger patrol. Vandame escaped leaving Bazokokande Baurel with the ivory.

Bazokokande Baurel was sentenced to 10 (ten) months fixed imprisonment, XAF 50,000 (fifty thousand) as fines and to pay XAF 500,000 (five hundrand thousand) as damages and court fees; The court ordered his expulsion from the Congolese territory and the return of ivory to the Sangha Departmental Directorate of Water and Forests; The Imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to its minimum.
