Abstract
In December 2019, the General Directorate of Research of Ogoué Ivindo had been informed of a trafficking in ivory tusks in the city of Makokou. After investigations, SANY Mohamed was arrested in possession of two ivory tusks he was planning to deliver in a hotel nearby. During his interrogation, he first declared that he acquired the tusks from a Cameroonian individual at XAF 50,000 and was planning to resell them at XAF 100,000 to one named as Paul. He later on declared as owner of a motel he received the tusks from customers as a guarantee of their stay in his motel. It’s when he was about to be paid and give back the tusks that he was arrested.
