Following information from an informer, agents of the NGO Conservation Justice were alerted that a state-of-the-art ivory transaction was to take place in one of the rooms of the PLAZA studio motel.
In December 2019, the Conservator of MOUKALABA Doudou National Park informed judicial police officers that an elephant was being killed in the river of the national park, where the bones of this animal were found. Following the investigations, Mbina and Nziengui were arrested.

On January 13, 2019 at Makokou, Mbondazokou Jean Valentin, Mbetsakame Régis, Nzingo Satoka Carl Boris were apprehended by judicial police officers who found them in possession of two ivory tusks hidden inside a bag of rice. Mbondazokou Jean Valentin and Mbetsakame Régis admitted the facts i.e.
In January 2013, at Etakanyabe by Makokou in the Ogooué Ivindo Province in the judicial area of Franceville, the Toyota Hilux 4x4 vehicle, driven by Messimo Rodrigue with Mbombi, Lindo and Egales on board were arrested with park agents at a check point after breaking through the barrier that was erected there.
On October 15, 2018 at 9:00pm, MBINI KINIOUMBA Brice Aymar a Congolese individual was arrested by elements of the gendarmerie brigade inside a vehicle on the road Mouila-Lambarene in possession of boxes containing cartridges. In September 2019, following an information related to ivory trafficking judicial police agents of Mouila arrested Motombi Ngoubou Mari Laure. During her interrogation, she declared that she was commissioned by Silla Demba to collect a parcel and deliver to someone at ”Beaux garçons” junction.
In December 2019, the General Directorate of Research of Ogoué Ivindo had been informed of a trafficking in ivory tusks in the city of Makokou. After investigations, SANY Mohamed was arrested in possession of two ivory tusks he was planning to deliver in a hotel nearby.
