In September 2019, Traore Boisse met two young men, who offered to sell him six ivory tusks for the sum of XAF150,000. He then hid the ivory purchased in a bag of flour before going to NDJOLE. There, he met his friend, AYI MINTSA Guy Benoit who put him in contact with a client in the person of MOHAMED who asked him to bring the trophies to Libreville. With the help of Ayi Mintsa, Traore hid the tusks in the bag of clothes and both took the train to Libreville. Once in Libreville, they were stopped by officers of Research and Intervention Brigade who brought them to the Direction of Economic and Financial Affairs. During their interrogation, both recognized the facts including the illegal possession of ivory tusks.
