Abstract
In June 2011, Dawe Ambroise, who lives in Makao, wanted to organise a hunting party and asked Momboukola Modeste for his services as a hunter and also as a porter. Together they went to the Lola area, where they saw an elephant coming out of the water when they arrived. Under pressure from Dawe Ambroise, Momboukola Modeste slaughtered the said animal and three days later they returned to collect the ivory points that Dawe Ambroise was responsible for selling.

Momboukola Modeste and Dawe Médard Ambroise were each sentenced to 5 years firm imprisonment and XAF 5000000 (five millions) as fines. The accused were sentenced to pay the costs. The public prosecutor issued a committal warrant against Dawe Médard. The accused were sentenced to pay XAF 2000000 ( two millions) as damages and interest jointly. The accused were sentenced to pay the costs. The imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to ten days for the court fees and twelve months for damages and interest.
