Abstract

In September 2016, Mombotabiki Odilon was putting his traps in the forest around PK17. Two days later he went back to look after his traps and discovered a leopard. Terrified, he went back to the village and called for his relatives, they came back and found that the animal was dead. He collected the animal, consumed the meat and used the skin. He then contacted Messiem Antoine to who he offered to sell the skin. When Messiem was going back he was caught by rangers in possession of the leopard skin. Mombotabiki was later on arrested and both were brought before the state prosecutor.
