Abstract
In April 2018, Ngombo Jacques found a giant pagolin in one of his traps at a village called Ouesso Mbila. Despite the warning of his uncle Ndoumba Ngombo Justin he killed the animal, consumed the meat and kept the scales that he offered for sale to a Chinese individual called Huang Xinsan at XAF 3,500 (three thousand five hundred) due to the poor state of the scales.

Ngombo Assangbo Jacques was sentenced to two years imprisonment and XAF 100,000 (one hundred thousand) as fines; Ndouma Ngombo Justin was sentenced to two years imprisonment suspended and XAF 100,000 (one hundred thousand) as fines; Huang Xinsan was sentenced to two years imprisonment suspended and XAF 3,000,000 (three million) as fines; The pangolin scales should be returned back; The vehicle of Huang Xinsan registered number 165GH6 should be returned back to its owner; All accused were condemned to pay XAF 600,000 (six hundred thousand) as damages jointly and to pay court fees. The Imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to its minimum.
