Abstract

Engouendza Adrien is a Congolese individual resident at Mokouangonda. During the year 2017, a big hunting expedition was carried out in the village and elephants were killed with a PMAK weapon. During investigations, rangers caught and arrested Engouendza Adrien in possession of the said PMAK that was hidden behind his house. Brought before the state prosecutor, he was charged of illegal possession of a war weapon and ammunition and sent to court for trial.

Engouendza Adrien was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment and to pay fines of XAF 50,000 (fifty thousand) and XAF 200,000 (two hundred thousand) as damages and to pay court fees. Imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to its minimum. No damage because the State of Congo did not file a civil claim.
