By declaration to the clerk of the Ouesso High Court on February 14, 2019, Barrister Anicet Moussahou-Goma, lawyer of the Sangha Departemental Directorate of Water and Forests (SDDWF), filed an appeal against the court ruling giving on the same day by the Ouesso High court in the case Balonguitane Eber Patrick and Ngatse Roland vs the Sangha Departmental Directorate of Water and Forests for three reasons: - Balonguitane Eber Patrick was not found guilty for the killing of a totally protected specie; - Ngatse Roland was not found guilty of complicity of illicit trade in ivory tusks while Balonguitane Eber Patrick that he has helped and assisted was on his turn found guilty of illicit trade in ivory tusks ; - The amount of damages was minimized to XAF 500,000 for Balonguitane Eber Patrick and XAF 300,000 for Ngatse Roland.
