On the 21 October 2016, the co-offenders went to the Djoum central market to buy bush meat (protected animals’ carcasses Classes A & B species). Some of them were to stock their restaurant, others were to resell and others for personal consumption. When the chief of Forestry and Wildlife Control Post of Djoum received the information on an ongoing illegal wildlife activity in the marked, he and his team went there and proceeded to arrest the suspected ladies in flagrant delicto and seized all the protected animal carcasses involved in the traffic. All the 8 ladies confessed that they were buying protected animal carcasses for various purposes listed above. After interrogations, they were all transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution. The seized items were sold during a public auction.
