The accused persons were caught flagrante delicto in possession and circulation of the remains of a totally protected class A animal specie, specifically gorilla. As per the accused, BISSO Patrick, he went into the forest to carry out hunting. While he was in the forest, he came across a herd of gorillas, amongst them there was a male gorilla who seemed to be very angry, threatening and attacked him. To defend himself, he used his firearm to kill the male gorilla and two other young gorillas. He then called on his friend OSSENGUE OBAMA to assist in the transportation of the gorillas to the home of the person who ordered the hunting. Unfortunately, on their way, they were arrested in possession of the remains of the three freshly killed gorillas. During interrogation, the accused persons acknowledged committing the offences as charged and pleaded guilty. BISSO Patrick acknowledged that he had no authorization to carry a weapon and ammunition.
