Abstract

On the 10 February 2016, elements of the forestry and wildlife control post of Mintom during a normal checkpoint routine, found two ivory tusks in the cabin of the truck driven by the accused Bobo Hassoumi and his car companion Hamidou Hamadou. Upon discovery of the ivories, the accused persons escaped the scene, abandoning their truck and the seized wildlife products. An arrest warrant was issued against the accused in this regard. An offence report was established and the seized loot was brought before the State attorney for prosecution.
