On the 14 July 2014, the conservation service of the Dja Biosphere reserve intercepted a cocoa truck leaving the Djoum locality. The owner of the truck is the accused person, Chingo Zacharie. They carried out a systematic search of the truck and discovered 39 Ivory tusks buried in some cocoa bags. The co-offender, Amadu Yaya, was the driver. He attempted restraining the elements of the conservation service to search the bags upon arrest. They were both conducted to the Dja conservation office for further interrogation. During interrogation, they denied ownership of the ivories claiming they were unaware of its presence in the cocoa bags and that it belongs to a certain She Emmanuel, the person responsible for loading the cocoa bags and placing them in the truck. At the close of the interrogation, they were transmitted before the State Attorney together with the seized ivories for prosecution.
