On the 28 February 2009, the MINFOF agents while on a regular check at the Ellemp checkpoint, stopped ELLA ABANG Daniel who was on his bike with ELLA ELLA Donald but he devised a strategy as if he was about to stop but suddenly escaped the agents. The MINFOF agents ran after him and succeeded to apprehend him in the Djoum military camp where he was trying to seek refuge. He was arrested in possession of a Magistrate Colobus and a Mandrillus. After his arrest, he admitted that he did not have any document authorizing him to detain or circulate with totally protected animals species and that it was his accomplice ELLA ELLA Donald who encouraged him to violate the MINFOF control gate. The animals seized were sold by public auction. After interrogations, the case file was transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution.
