Abstract

The accused ESSOMBA ESSOMBA Donatien was arrested flagrante delicto by elements of the motorized infantry battalion (BIM), in the locality of Libongo during a security patrol of the hunting zone no.29 in the LOBEKE National Park. He was found in possession of two (02) elephant parts & other protected animal species he had killed, a big hunting weapon and its accessories, and four (04) elephant ivories. During interrogations, the accused admitted having carried out the hunting two (02) weeks earlier before his arrest. At the close of interrogation, he was transmitted together with the seized items before the State Attorney for prosecution where he reiterated his confession.
