Abstract
On the 26 October 2009, during a control & exploitation monitoring mission, the agents of South Antenna of the Dja conservation service caught MBIA David red-handed in the Dja Biosphere Reserve for illegal detention of two (2) elephant tusks (weighing 13 kg) and an arm. Upon his arrest, MBIA David did not have any legal document authorizing him to carry out this activity. He claimed that he bought the two ivories from a pygmy and the arm belonged to his elder brother. After interrogations, he, alongside the seized items was transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution.
