Abstract

In early May 2013, a Chinese named Valoja (at large) in Russian contacted Baisong J. and asked him to help smuggle bear paws from Russia to China. Baisong J. then contacted Guangjun L. and asked him to contact the person who could smuggle bear paws to China. Guangjun L. contacted Александр and СерреЙ and talked to them about smuggling matters. On May 17, 2013, under the contact of Guangjun L., Valorga and Александр, СерреЙ met in Russia, the car with the brand name of B663TP75 of Александр was driven away. On May 21, Valoja returned the car to Александр and СерреЙ, telling them about the smuggled items hidden in the tires and asked them to smuggle into China in the early hours of May 22. After inspection by the Chinese Customs, a total of 213 bear paws were seized from the vehicle's 4 tires and 1 spare tire on the spot. Baisong J., Александр, СерреЙ, Guangjun L. confessed to having smuggled endangered wildlife products.
