Abstract
At 17:00 on April 9, 2017, the defendant Guangming C. departed from Lusaka, Republic of Zambia, and transferred via Addis Ababa, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and arrived at Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport. At the time of entry, he chose to pass through without declaration, and did not declare any items to the customs. When inspecting the suitcase carried by Guangming C., the customs officer found 89 suspected ivory products stuffed into the shoe tube of women's shoes, wrapped in tin foil and yellow tape. After identification, they were all ivory products, with a net weight of 6.0995 kg and a value of RMB 254147.87. Guangming C. confessed to having smuggled endangered wildlife products.
