Abstract

At 15 o'clock on December 31, 2016, Jianping T. held the G234 ticket for the day to prepare to enter the Nanjing South Railway Station. During the security check, the security inspector found that there were a large number of items similar to jewellery and crafts in the luggage he carried. Jianping T. was questioned and replied that they were ivory crafts. Later the police arrived, they inspected the luggage carried by him and found multiple pieces of suspected ivory products. It was identified that 92 of the items carried by Jianping T. were Asian elephant or African elephant ivory products, with a total net weight of 5.74 kg and a value of RMB 239,169.
