Abstract

At 16:20 on March 18, 2015, the defendant Jianquan L., carrying 119 animal teeth and 15 animal claws, departed from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, transited through Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Paris, France, and arrived at Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital International Airport. Jianquan L. chose to pass through without declaration. Customs officers seized 27 animal teeth wrapped in toilet paper and plastic bags in the two wine box mezzanines in the black backpack, and seized 92 animal teeth and 15 animal claws wrapped in toilet paper and plastic bags in the side pocket of the black backpack. Jianquan L. confessed to having smuggled endangered wildlife products.
