Abstract

On April 19, 2019, Jimei N. purchased 41 geckos from others for a price of 2,400 yuan. On the same day, Nong Jime brought the geckos back to his self-built building and wanted to raise and resell them to earn the price difference. After receiving the information, the police of the Forest Public Security Bureau of Jingxi City searched the above residence of Jimei N. on May 14, 2019. On the second floor of the residence, 39 live geckos and 2 dead bodies were found. After identification, the 41 geckos were all Tokay geckos, which were under protection of the state. Jimei N. confessed to having illegally purchased threatened and endangered wildlife species.
