Around December 2012, the defendant Meijiu C., was introduced by Chen 1(sentenced), sold 2 pairs of elephant tusks and 13 ivory carvings to Xia(sentenced) for 1.16 million yuan. Afterwards, the defendant Meijiu C. transported the batch of ivory from Xianyou County, Putian City, Fujian Province to Dongyang City, Zhejiang Province by way of long-distance bus consignment, and handed over some of the ivory to Chen 1 and then drove alone with the remaining ivory to Jinhua delivering to Xia. After the incident, 2 elephant tusks and 11 ivory carvings were seized. After appraisal, their reference value totaled RMB 907,507. After the case, the defendant Meijiu C. was chased online and finally she surrendered to the Forest Police on October 27, 2017. The defendant Meijiu C. confessed to having transported and sold ivory products.
