Abstract
After accepting the Hong Kong skipper's mandate, Runlin X. and Feng drove a motorboat from Minzhong, Zhongshan City to the Tung Chung Typhoon Shelter in Hong Kong to load goods and bring them to China on April 10, 2016. In the early morning of the next day, they were intercepted by public security personnel in the waterway near the Tianjisha Lock in Minzhen Township. Runlin X. dived to escape and was captured by public security personnel on 7 March 2018. The 77 bags of cargo seized by public security personnel from the motorboat were pangolins, which were endangered wildlife products with a net weight of 1,495 kg. Runlin X. confessed to having smuggled endangered wildlife products.
