Abstract

Feng Xiangxuan departed from Johannesburg Airport in South Africa and took flight CX748, then transferred to flight KA876 via Hong Kong. He arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on January 11, 2018. He chose to go through the non-declaration channel when entering, and did not declare any items to the customs. During the X-ray inspection of a silver suitcase he carried, the customs officer found that two masks and handicrafts in the box contained suspicious objects hidden in the mezzanine. They were demolished on the spot, 43 suspected ivory bracelets, 3 ivory bracelets, and 1 suspected rhino horn were seized. Later, the investigators seized two suspected ivory bracelets in the above-mentioned mask crafts. Xiangxuan F. confessed to having smuggled endangered wildlife products.
