Abstract

On the afternoon of April 11, 2017, the defendants Zheng, Lin, Wu and Nengxiang Q. jointly carried a suitcase containing young European eel and departed from Lisbon Airport, Portugal, and took flight AF1195 via Paris, France. Flight AF0116 arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The defendants Zhi and Qiang Z., with the help of Zhu (separately handled), through the security staff passage, met with Lin and 4 others . After they merged, the above personnel collected the checked baggage together and chose to go through the non-declaration channel together, without declaring any items to the customs. When the box was inspected by X-ray machine, it was found that there were suspicious items in it, and the box was opened for inspection. A total of 64 bags of suspected young European eel were found in the above 11 suitcases. Zheng, Lin, Zhi and Wu confessed to having smuggled.
