Abstract

In March 2011, Yolah Fred Benjamin killed one elephant with his caliber 12 rifle during a hunting expedition. He cut the trunk and removed the two ivory tusks. He then contacted Mouity Dissienga to look for a buyer. Dissienga took an appointed with a middleman who was to introduce them to a buyer at hotel Louis on the same day in the afternoon. While at the place, they were arrested by agents of National Directorate of Counter-intelligence and Maritime Security jointly with those of the Water and Forests in possession of bag containing two tusks weighing 25kg. During his interrogation, Yolah admitted the facts and Mouity denied the facts of trade in ivory tusks.
