Abstract
On 19 October 2018, the Mokabi Anti-Poaching and Surveillance Unit, during its traditional surveillance operations, surprised a group of Central African individuals in the middle of the forest. During the operation, they managed to arrest Mbekounda Achille and Mamadou Amidou, who were in possession of several baskets of smoked meat. The meat came from fully and partially protected species, including a panther and duiker.

Mbekounda Achille and Mamadou Amidou were sentenced to 2 years firm imprisonment. The accused were sentenced to pay the sum of XAF 500000 ( five hundred thousand) as damages and interest. The accused were sentenced to pay the costs. The Public Prosecutor’s confirmed the deposit of warrant established on October, 29, 2018. The imprisonment per body was fixed to the minimum.
