Abstract

During the year 2017, Balossa Blaise was the accomplice of the legendary poacher known as Benz participating in many elephant hunting expeditions in Djaka leading to the killing of elephants with ivory weighing respectively 32 and 57 kgs and estimated at XAF 800,000 (eight hundred thousand). After the arrest of Benz, Balossa took his weapon and reorganized the hunting team. He then led the killing of one elephant in Moubemba with the tusk weighing 10 kgs; the killing of two elephants at Edzoumbou with his accomplices Anicet, Sadam and Emmanuel and hide the weapon, the loaders and two ivory tusks. According to the police report, Mouanza Sorel, Ikolo Rock and Moleki Duval are the accomplices of Balossa, one having provided the weapon and the others having provided assistance. Abdoulaye Tairou is the final recipient of the ivory.
