Abstract

On January 05, 2018, Edenga Justin met with Arsene Adzele while he was entering the village Gol who asked him to find a buyer of ivory tusks. On January 09, Edanga Juscar went to Souanke where he met with Mr. Sarli who ordered ivory tusks and then he came back to Gol and told Adzele Arsene that he found a potential buyer. When Edanga was in possession of Adzele’s ivory he called Sarli who asked him to wait for him at Auberge. Once arrived at Auberge, Edanga was arrested by rangers on board a vehicle registered 3175-83 that they searched and found ivory tusks. After interrogation by rangers, Edanga admitted the facts and was brought before the state prosecutor.

Penalty
Edanga Juscar was sentenced to 18 (eighteen) months imprisonment, XAF 500,000 (five hundred thousand) as fines and XAF 500,000 (five hundred thousand) as damages and to pay court fees. Imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to three months for the recovery of fines, two months for the recovery of damages and 01 (one) month for the recovery of court fees.
