Abstract
In order to solve some financial difficulties, ESSOUKETE KAMBA Hermann, owner of a calibre rifle type BAIKAN and a machine gun type PMAK and together with his police counterpart AMBOULOU Bienvenu, organised a hunting party in the MOKANGA forest, IBAMBA zone, where an elephant was killed. Judging the result insufficient, he sent his companion back to the village to get food while he continued to hunt. He was then caught by the eco-guards on their daily duties and could not justify himself.

The accused was sentenced to 24 (twenty four) months suspended sentence and a fine of XAF 2,000,000 (two million); The accused was ordered to pay the sum of XAF 1,000,000 (one million) as civil damages and to pay the costs to the sum of XAF 300,000 (three hundred thousand); The duration of the imprisonment in default of payment was set to 15 (fifteen) days for the recovery of court fees, 1 (one) month for the recovery of the fines and 3 (three) months for the recovery of damages.
