Abstract

Bolandombe Didier is a Congolese (DRC) individual employed as task agent at the Société Atama Plantations at Mambili. In May 2017, with a hunting gun he entered the forest for small hunting. He killed a chimpanzee, a totally protected animal at around 6:00 pm. He went back to the village and left the meat in the forest. The next day he contacted one known as Papi Moundane to help him skinned the animal and smoked the meat. While Bolandombe Didier remained in the forest to continue smoking the meat, Moundane went back to the village with some pieces of meat that he gave to his brother Rodrigue who then informed the rangers and Bolandombe was arrested. Brought before the state prosecutor, Bolandombe Didier was charged of killing a totally protected animal.
