Abstract

On 11 March 2013, Arouna Diallo took a bus ”Océan du Nord” registered No 708 GG 4 from Ouesso to Brazzaville. At village Mokoye, he went out of the bus to collect one mattress and one fufu bag that were at the back of the bus. Immediately whne he went out of the bus he was arrested by rangers who caught him with tusks wrapped in the mattress. He was then brought to the gendarmerie of Ouesso and then to the state prosecutor who forwarded the case to court for trial.

Arouna Diallo was sentenced to twenty-four months imprisonment, XAF 500,000 (five hundred thousand) as fines and to pay XAF 1,000,000 (one million) as damages; The Imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to its minimum for the recovery of fines, ten days for the recovery of court fees and two months for the recovery of damages.
