Abstract
Okangossili Kondzi Wossi lived in Lango village in Mokeko district. Near his village, about 2km away, he set traps to catch small animals. On 22 June 2014, a gorilla was caught with one of his traps. When he went to check his traps, Okangossili Kondzi Wossi spotted the gorilla, which screamed to alert the others. He shot the animal with his 12-gauge rifle but did not inform the administrative authorities. He then returned to the forest to skin the animal and was caught by environmentalists who brought him before the public prosecutor.
