On the 20 September 2011, the agents of the Forestry and Wildlife Control Post of Djoum, during a special anti-poaching operation, found and seized elephant tusks, 04 arms, ammunitions and knives in the house of ZO’O MINKO André who was arrested as well. During his interrogation by the MINFOF officials, he acknowledged owning all the seized items and confessed that he is a poacher and sometimes hires other poachers to kill elephants in the forest and extract their tusks. He confessed not possessing any document authorizing these activities. The ivories seized were probably the one MBELE MBELE Gaston and OKONO OKONO Sylver brought from Gabonese forest where they were sent by ZO’O MINKO André in another case. After interrogations, ZO’O MINKO and the seized items were transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution.
