Abstract

The accused AWOUNDI Jean Claude was found guilty of poaching by the Court of First Instance, Djoum, as per a judgement in default. He was sentenced to six (06) months imprisonment and to pay costs. He rightly contested the judgement which was admitted by the Court. However, he brought no new facts or elements as to why the judgment should be set aside and but was however accorded large mitigating circumstances based on his confession and acknowledgment of all the facts of the case. His sanction was reviewed in this light and he was condemned to pay 30, 000 XAF for fines.
