The accused AWOUNDI Jean was summoned by the State Attorney to respond to charges of killing protected animal species. That on the 16 June 1998, the accused killed protected animal species in the locality of Mintom, in a zone prohibited from hunting. During the court hearing, the accused failed to appear before the court inspite being summoned countless times. However, the court found sufficient evidence establishing his culpability. At the end of the court proceedings, the matter was adjourned for judgement.
