On the 7 December 2012, some elements of the Dja conservation service under patrol arrested the accused with 03 elephant ivories in his clothing shop located in the Djoim Central market. They immediately informed the Dja Head of Antenna service who further sent more elements to the crime scene. They arrested the accused and took him to their unit for questioning. During interrogations, he denied committing the offences and claimed that while he was sitting in his store, a certain “Emanou” approached his requesting for elephant tails on the basis that traditional heads from his place of origin, North west usually use this for traditional ceremonies. He refused having the tails. After several pleading by the man, he accepted the sum of 15.000 XAF. They took a program for the following day to which the accused, Fifen, went searched for the elephant tails. He called the buyer to come collect the elephant tails at his shop as agreed. It was at that moment, while reclaiming his balance, that the forces of law and order came to his shop and arrested him. He called a certain Moupe Ibrahim, the bike man who transported him to bear him witness. At the close of interrogations, he was transmitted before the State Attorney, together with the seized items as exhibits for prosecution.
