Abstract

The accused MANGA Clother was summoned to appear before the Court of First Instance, Djoum to respond to charges of hunting in a protected area; killing of Class B protected animal species; Hunting in a closed hunting period; Hunting without a permit or licence, hunting with a non-traditional vehicle; and illegal detention and circulation within the national territory and without certificate of origin trophies of protected class B animal species, and refusal to comply with the law. The court action against the accused MANGA Clother was initiated by the civil party, the Ministry of forestry and wildlife (MINFOF) represented by Barrister HELL and the state attorney. In the course of the trial, MINFOF through its counsel Barrister HELL requested the withdrawal of the action on grounds that the accused is being prosecuted by another court for the same facts and charges and judgement will soon be passed.
